Lab Technician - Microbiology

Position Overview

The Technician is responsible for performing microbiological finished product testing, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role supports documentation control, GMP/ISO adherence, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure accurate, timely product release in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform and interpret microbiological testing (growth promotion, biochemical testing, AST) for quality control purposes.

Document test results accurately and determine product disposition.

Execute stability studies in accordance with QA requirements.

Establish and maintain SOP criteria for inspection and testing.

Review and maintain product specifications and compliance documentation.

Ensure adherence to GMP, ISO, and regulatory standards.

Support departmental continuous improvement initiatives.

Collaborate with QA and Customer Service to support on‑time product release.

Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related biological science required.

Must include microbiology lab coursework OR industry microbiology lab experience.

Minimum 1-2 years of microbiology laboratory experience (academic and/or industry)

Familiarity with FDA regulations for medical devices preferred.

Reliable documentation skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; SAP experience preferred.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Adaptable, scientifically objective, and willing to learn new procedures.

Self‑motivated, reliable, and team‑oriented.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
