Occupational Therapist, Full-Time, Home Care, Brons at Home

Compensation$10,000 Sign-On Bonus
Responsibilities Clinical Duties- Interpretation and implementation of referrals; evaluates patient functional status and therapeutic needs through standardized assessment and testing; establishes functional baseline to guide treatment progress and optimization of functional independence.
- Develop education and treatment plans.
- Provide family and community education.
- Participate in interdisciplinary discussion/rounds.
- Set patient care goals and estimate length of treatment.
- Develop and contribute to program improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource expert in areas of specialization.
- Provide in‑service education within the Bronson Rehabilitation System.
- Deliver direct patient care per the treatment plan, facilitating patient skill development.
- Design and fabricate splints and other assistive devices as needed.
- Cross‑train in other departments within Rehabilitation Services as required.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, treatments performed, and progress, adjusting treatment plans to enhance therapy outcomes.
- Maintain electronic health record documentation within compliance timelines.
- Communicate to leadership any documentation barriers.
- Ensure accurate, legible, and complete records for each patient served.
- Serve on committees and task forces.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate time‑management skills.
- Supervise COTA, Rehab Clinical Assistant, OT students, COTA students, volunteers, and athletic trainer personnel.
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional assistance with heavier tasks.
- Work may require frequent and significant deadline management, with up to 40% of time spent operating a personal computer.
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed OT in good standing with the state of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support Certification required within 3 months of employment.
- Current driver’s license and daily vehicle availability with proof of insurance for BAH duties.
- Proficiency in keyboarding and PC/mobile device operation.
- Effective communication skills with patients, visitors, and care team members.
- Social sensitivity and bilingual English proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal skills to handle delicate patient care matters.
First Shift;
Full time; 40 scheduled weekly hours;
Cost Center 7330 Home Care OT (BAH).
