Position Summary
Provide treatment to patients to facilitate development and rehabilitation of physically, cognitively, or emotionally disabled persons for the purpose of restoring and enhancing functional independence. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Qualifications- Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Occupational Therapy license in good standing with the State of Michigan
- Proficiency in keyboarding on PC/mobile device
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, social sensitivity, English proficiency
- Current driver’s license in Michigan and vehicle available for business use; valid auto insurance and MVR check required
- BLS Certification required within 3 months of employment
- Preferred clinical experience in home care or related settings
- Interpret and implement referrals; evaluate patient functional status and therapeutic needs through standardized assessment and testing; establish functional baseline.
- Establish education and treatment planning.
- Provide family and community education.
- Participate in interdisciplinary discussion/rounds.
- Set patient care goals and estimate length of treatment.
- Develop and participate in program and department process improvement activities.
- Serve as a resource person and provide in-services to the Bronson Rehabilitation System.
- Direct patient care per treatment plan; facilitate and instruct patients in necessary skills.
- Design and fabricate splints and assistive devices as needed.
- Cross‑train to other departments within Rehabilitation Services as necessary.
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, and progress in the electronic health record per compliance timelines.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records for each patient.
- Communicate to leadership any documentation limitations.
- Serve on committees and task forces; participate in process improvement.
- Demonstrate time‑management skills.
- Supervise COTA, Rehab Clinical Assistant, OT students, COTA students, volunteers, and athletic trainer.
