Lakeview's Clinical Dietician will guarantee a high level of hospitality, service, and satisfaction for Lakeview Village residents and guests by managing the Food First Program in the licensed areas. This position is responsible for all the clinical duties that are required for Skilled and Assisted Living areas to meet KDADS regulations regarding food services in a licensed facility.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direction to help ensure the dining and nutrition services provided to the licensed areas are meeting the psychosocial and nutritional needs of residents.
  • Provide knowledge and skills to staff in all neighborhoods assuring they have the resources to be successful in meeting the needs of residents.
  • Responsible for completing appropriate records and charting on all residents to assure that the facility stays within the regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for the Quality Improvement measurements for the licensed Dining Service Areas.
  • Meet the standards and principles of state, certified organizations, boards, and councils that relate to professionals providing care are respected and observed.
  • Promoting the resident’s well-being and satisfaction by supporting resident-centered care, developing and interpreting standards of care, guiding the interdisciplinary team as it establishes and implements the resident’s plan of care with the resident and his/her family or responsible party and neighborhood teams.
  • Provides leadership and vision to neighborhoods by maintaining professionalism, supporting a learning environment by keeping abreast of latest trends and new ideas, collaborating with other staff, coordinators, and directors to share resources, knowledge, expertise, opportunities and achievements
  • Ensures the clinical nutrition operations are in compliance with federal, state and local regulations and professional standards of nutritional care while honoring person-centered and resident-directed care
  • Performs resident nutritional assessments at least quarterly to determine plan of care. Responsible for timely completion of the MDS and Care Plan according to facilities policies, state and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for monitoring of resident weight and make recommendations to the physician and clinical team with regards to prevention of weight loss following the Food First Program.
  • Provides direction, oversight, and coverage for the dietitian in Eastside Terrace.
  • Works closely with Nurses, ADON and DON to meet all clinical requirements related to the nutritional well-being of residents in Skilled Nursing, Care Center and Assisted Living. Takes lead role regarding KDADS State Survey and Dining Services.
  • Conduct and maintain training and in-service programs as needed or directed by the Director of Dining Services, Director of Health Services, or the Director of Nursing Services.
  • Maintain proper personal appearance and hygiene according to established procedures for all Skilled Nursing food and beverage personnel and communicate regularly with Dining Services.
  • Provide support and oversight in the licensed dining rooms at least one meal per day rotating between all meals in all dining rooms.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Must be a Registered Dietician in the State of Kansas.
  • Three (3) years progressive experience in Long Term Care management or equivalent educational and experience combination.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, speaking, and writing, when performing duties that require this need, and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
