** Ultrasound Technologist** , you'll play an important role in helping patients receive accurate diagnostic imaging while creating a calm, reassuring experience throughout every exam.

** Ultrasound Technologist
** performs diagnostic sonographic procedures that support accurate diagnosis and exceptional patient care. This role prepares and positions patients, acquires high-quality images for radiologist interpretation, completes detailed documentation, and performs interventional ultrasound procedures as needed. The Ultrasound Technologist maintains compliance with Advent Health standards and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations while ensuring a safe, compassionate, and efficient patient experience.
** Key Responsibilities*
* + Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations according to provider orders and established department protocols.
+ Verify patient identity, confirm exam appropriateness, and obtain relevant clinical history before scanning.
+ Position patients and equipment appropriately to obtain optimal images, waveforms, heart rates, and diagnostic data.
+ Explain procedures clearly while promoting patient comfort, cooperation, dignity, and privacy throughout the examination.
+ Acquire and analyze ultrasound images and complete accurate worksheets to support radiologist interpretation.
+ Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record and PACS systems.
+ Operate ultrasound equipment safely while adapting protocols to meet patient needs across the lifespan.
+ Practice infection prevention standards, including appropriate use of PPE and approved disinfectants.
+ Follow department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures.
+ Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
+ Perform interventional ultrasound procedures as appropriate for the department.
+ Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and notify appropriate personnel when supplies require replenishment.
+ Perform other duties as assigned
** Knowledge, Skills & Abilities*
* + Detailed knowledge of ultrasound physics, cross-sectional anatomy, vascular anatomy, and Doppler techniques.
+ Ability to independently perform ultrasound procedures that meet radiologist quality standards.
+ Ability to use computer systems for data entry, retrieval, and documentation.
+ Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
