Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (Day Shift)
As a Medical Lab Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting laboratory operations by ensuring specimens are processed accurately and efficiently. Your work helps laboratory professionals deliver timely and reliable test results that impact patient care.
What You'll Do• Sort and receive specimens within the laboratory department
• Perform laboratory tasks such as centrifuging specimens, printing labels, specimen storage and retrieval, and recording data
• Prepare reagents and media as needed within the department
• Process specimens for testing, including aliquoting, inoculation, slide preparation, and checking for clots and fibrin
• Perform routine instrument maintenance on designated equipment
• Complete QA/QC activities and assist with resolving pending lists and locating missing samples
• Maintain department records and laboratory files
• Decontaminate work areas and properly dispose of biohazardous materials
• Follow all PPE requirements, safety regulations, and laboratory procedures
• Utilize laboratory computer systems and PCs to support daily operations
• Complete required training and competency assessments
• A current, up-to-date resume
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical assistant training is helpful but not required
• Math and science coursework preferred
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to retain learned information
• Ability to communicate professionally and work collaboratively with coworkers and customers
• Basic computer skills and comfort working with laboratory systems
• Ability to meet compliance requirements
• Entry-level opportunity with no prior laboratory experience required
