Lab Director – Clinical Laboratory (Permanent)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with On-Call Rotation
Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 Annually
Position SummarySeeking an experienced Lab Director to oversee the operations, quality, compliance, and personnel management of a hospital-based clinical laboratory. The Lab Director will ensure efficient laboratory operations, regulatory compliance, quality patient care, and staff development while supporting the organization's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities- Direct and oversee daily operations of the clinical laboratory, including Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Urinalysis, and related departments.
- Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, CMS, OSHA, and other regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Manage laboratory staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and professional development.
- Monitor quality assurance, quality control, proficiency testing, and laboratory performance metrics.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital administration to support clinical and organizational objectives.
- Oversee budgeting, inventory management, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related science field.
- ASCP Certification required.
- Minimum 5 years of hospital laboratory experience
. - Minimum 2 years of laboratory supervisory or leadership experience
. - Experience across multiple areas of the hospital laboratory.
- CAP survey and accreditation experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
