Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Position Summary

Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and operate sonographic equipment to obtain high-quality images and diagnostic information. Evaluate sonograms, recognize normal and abnormal findings, and communicate relevant information to physicians while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

• Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic sonography examinations.
• Operate sonographic equipment independently and effectively.
• Use appropriate techniques to obtain and document diagnostic images.
• Evaluate sonograms and identify normal and pathological findings.
• Integrate patient history, medical records, and other diagnostic information when performing examinations.
• Communicate diagnostic information and findings to the appropriate physician.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout examinations.
• Assist with daily sonography laboratory operations, scheduling, and workload coordination.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment, work areas, supplies, and required patient/exam logs.
• Participate in quality assurance and laboratory accreditation activities.
• Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with patients and healthcare team members.
• Follow established departmental procedures and respond appropriately to emergency situations.

• Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
• 0-1 year of experience operating sonographic equipment preferred.
• Ability to evaluate sonograms and obtain appropriate diagnostic information.
• Ability to integrate sonographic findings with patient history and medical records.
• Strong independent judgment and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work efficiently and respond appropriately in emergency situations.

• Registered pharmacist maintaining a license in good standing (Desired)
• Sterile certification (preferred) (Desired)
• 2 years experience in sterile and/or nonsterile compounding (Desired)
• In-depth knowledge of USP and requirements (Desired)
• Understanding of aseptic technique principles (Desired)
• Knowledge of cleanroom design and engineering controls (Desired)
• Familiarity with media fill testing and environmental monitoring (Desired)
• Knowledge of sterilization methods and stability considerations (Desired)
  Understanding of hazardous drug risk assessments (Desired)
• Knowledge of compounding documentation requirements (Desired)
• Familiarity with equipment used in sterile compounding (Desired)
• Understanding of regulatory expectations (Desired)
• Knowledge of infection prevention and patient safety principles (Desired)
