Compensation

Hourly base pay of $15 per hour, plus $2–$5 per hour in tips.

Responsibilities

The Guest Service Associate / Valet provides exceptional hospitality services to guests, parks and retrieves vehicles, assists with luggage, and offers information and directions.

Essential Functions (approx. % of time)
  • Makes a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with all guests, coworkers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet. Uses guest last names during interactions. — 25%
  • Welcomes guests, uses proper phone etiquette, and posts in designated areas when not completing tasks. — 10%
  • Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Assists with bell services and luggage storage, opens vehicle and hotel doors for guests. — 20%
  • Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provides information about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions. Delivers messages, items, or guest amenities as requested; shuttles guests to approved locations. — 10%
  • Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures. Issues claim checks only after receiving keys, collects claim checks from all guests before issuing keys. Maintains ticket information and calculates revenue as needed. — 35%

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Licensure / Certification:

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and pass a criminal background and drug screen.

Experience:

  • One (1) month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.

Skills:

  • Reading and writing standard English language.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Write simple correspondence.
  • Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Add and subtract three-digit numbers; multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; perform arithmetic operations with U.S. money.
  • Understand 24‑hour and military time systems.
  • Understand rates applicable to time passed.
  • Operate a manual transmission (highly desirable).
  • Perform parallel parking.
Scope

The job is fairly routine. Incumbent follows established practices, performs duties with specific directions, and decisions are made within operational instructions and departmental guidelines.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Approximately speaking, the employee is required to talk or hear, sit or stand for extended periods, may run, walk, handle objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Lifting Requirements

Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; up to 50 pounds frequently; up to 20 pounds constantly.

Travel

Travel of up to 5% may be required.
