Job Description

The HR Generalist provides day-to-day human resources support and policy guidance to employees and leaders across the United States and Canada. This role administers benefits and leave programs, supports the full employee lifecycle, and partners closely with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing. The HR Generalist also assists with recruiting activities, supports employee relations, maintains HRIS data and confidential records, and helps ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.

Responsibilities

+ Provide day-to-day HR support and policy guidance to employees and managers across the United States and Canada.

+ Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and ongoing employee support.

+ Manage leave of absence processes, including FMLA and ADA accommodation requests, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.

+ Coordinate with payroll to resolve pay, timekeeping, attendance, deduction, and employee record issues.

+ Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential employee records and HRIS data, including required documentation.

+ Support the employee lifecycle by coordinating onboarding, new hire orientation, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and other employment changes.

+ Assist with recruiting activities, including reviewing candidates, conducting initial screenings, scheduling interviews, and coordinating pre-employment steps.

+ Support employee relations by gathering information, documenting concerns, and helping apply policies consistently and fairly.

+ Prepare HR reports and assist with internal and external audits as needed.

+ Support HR-related training, employee communications, and engagement initiatives.

+ Contribute to HR projects and process improvements to enhance HR services and employee experience.

+ Ensure HR practices comply with applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal company policies.

Essential Skills

+ At least 1 year of experience in human resources or a related field.

+ Hands-on experience or exposure to core HR functions such as onboarding, benefits administration, or employee relations.

+ Experience coordinating with payroll on pay, timekeeping, attendance, and employee record issues.

+ Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data.

+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

+ Effective communication skills to provide clear guidance to employees and managers.

+ Attention to detail in documentation, reporting, and compliance-related activities.

+ Willingness to work on-site in a manufacturing-oriented environment.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in human resources, business, or a related field.

+

Experience with onboarding and orientation processes for new hires.

+ Exposure to recruiting activities such as candidate screening, interview scheduling, and pre-employment coordination.

+ Familiarity with benefits administration and leave of absence processes, including FMLA and ADA accommodations.

+ Experience preparing HR reports and supporting audits or HR projects.

+ Interest in supporting employee engagement initiatives, training, and internal communications.

+ Openness to growing in a broad HR generalist role and supporting both U.S. and Canadian employee populations.

Work Environment

This position is fully on-site, working five days per week in the Lenexa office. The role supports a manufacturing-oriented environment, which may involve partnering closely with production and operations teams. The HR Generalist works in an office setting with regular in-person interaction with employees and managers, providing hands-on support for HR processes and employee needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Lenexa, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
