The Security Analyst is responsible for protecting the organization’s information assets by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents.
Duties and Responsibilities- Monitor security events, logs, and alerts to detect and respond to suspicious activity.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.
- Perform risk analysis and develop strategies to mitigate potential threats.
- Investigate security breaches and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Support compliance initiatives (ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR, or others as relevant).
- Develop, document, and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide training and awareness programs to staff regarding information security.
- Configure, maintain, and monitor security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, SIEM, and DLP tools.
- Administer identity and access management (IAM), ensuring least‑privilege principles are enforced.
- Oversee patch management and system hardening across servers, applications, and endpoints.
- Secure cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on‑prem infrastructure.
- Implement disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity plans.
- Work with IT teams to design secure network architecture and enforce segmentation.
- Support forensic analysis and remediation after cyber incidents.
- Monitor and analyze email utilizing email security tools.
- Provide oversight for physical security cloud solutions.
- Administration of MFA and MDM solutions (management, configuration and security policy enforcement).
- Manage EDR/XDR solutions and external SOC relationship.
- Responsible for PCI management and compliance.
- Performs additional duties as assigned, with flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs.
- Years of Experience 3+ Information security and IT systems security
- Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience. Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology
- Professional certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, SSCP).
- Solid knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS).
- Hands‑on experience with security tools: SIEMs, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, EDR, etc.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, and switching.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both strategically (policy, governance, risk) and tactically (system hardening, incident response).
- Strong attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Proactive mindset, keeping current with evolving cyber threats and technologies.
- Team‑oriented with the ability to collaborate across IT, compliance, and business units.
