Lead Cloud Engineer
Community America Federal Credit Union seeks a Lead Cloud Engineer for Lenexa, Kansas.
Duties & Responsibilities- Oversee design, migration, and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure.
- Assist with the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of high-availability SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS solutions hosted in the Azure cloud.
- Support multiple agile teams delivering quality solutions and supporting them through the SDLC change process into production.
- Help set cloud standards and best practices.
- Support, maintain, and create deployment systems and CI environments using Azure Dev Ops and Jenkins.
- Provide Tier 3 incident support for applications.
- Automate software build, test, and deployments with other developers.
- Assist with sprint planning, daily stand‑up activities, and lead on‑call duty as needed.
- Lead and report on cloud project status; manage and lead assigned project activities.
- Mentor, train, and lead junior system and Dev Ops engineers.
- Follow security best practices and work with the security team to maintain controls.
- Implement and support disaster‑recovery solutions.
- Ensure capacity planning processes are followed.
- Participate in direction of documentation standards and reviews.
- Provide technical development mentoring and trend analysis to management.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related, and 5 years progressive experience. Must include concurrent experience with the following:
- Infrastructure automation/infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- 5 years in a major cloud platform such as Azure or AWS.
- Load‑balanced web architectures.
- Estimating Azure costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms.
- Scripting languages such as Power Shell, Python, Bash.
- Automation/configuration management software such as Ansible or Puppet.
- Development of Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
Position also requires demonstrated knowledge/skills in:
- Fundamental network knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, DNS, OSI model.
- Linux.
- Azure Services with strengths in App Services, Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Virtual Networks, Application Gateway, Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Ability to explain system technology in non‑technical terms.
- Scripting skills and ability to leverage vendor tools for defect or performance resolution.
- Advanced knowledge in software and information lifecycle processes, data systems, relational databases, and client‑server concepts.
- Project management skills and industry knowledge.
- Ability to create automation scripts using multiple preferred scripting languages.
- Working knowledge in two or more technology families.
