Position Summary
Sims Global Solutions is seeking a hands-on, customer-focused IT Support Specialist to serve as the primary technology resource for our growing organization. This is a unique opportunity for an IT professional who enjoys wearing multiple hats and making a direct impact on business operations. As a team of one, you will provide day-to-day technical support for approximately 30–50 employees, manage hardware and software systems, coordinate with technology vendors, maintain network and security standards, and ensure our employees have the tools they need to succeed.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of technology initiatives from start to finish.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee technology support requests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, printer, mobile device, and peripheral issues.
- Configure, deploy, maintain, and replace desktop computers, laptops, monitors, and other technology equipment.
- Assist employees with Google Workspace applications including Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet, and Calendar.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities including user account setup, access management, and equipment provisioning.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, internet performance, wireless access, and related infrastructure issues.
- Monitor and maintain office networking equipment including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and internet services.
- Coordinate with internet service providers and technology vendors to resolve outages and performance issues.
- Maintain system documentation, inventory records, and network diagrams.
- Support company cybersecurity initiatives and best practices.
- Manage endpoint security, software updates, patch management, and antivirus solutions.
- Assist with user access controls, password policies, and account security.
- Monitor and help maintain physical and network security standards.
- Ensure technology assets and systems comply with company policies and security requirements.
- Administer and support the Ring Central voip phone system.
- Manage user accounts, call routing, voicemail configurations, and related telecom services.
- Support conference room technology and virtual meeting platforms.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external IT vendors, service providers, and technology partners.
- Coordinate technology purchases, renewals, repairs, and service agreements.
- Manage inventory of IT equipment, accessories, and office technology supplies.
- Recommend hardware and software improvements based on business needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve technology processes, security, and user experience.
- Assist leadership with technology budgeting and planning.
- Research and recommend new technologies that support company growth and operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain user guides and technical documentation.
- Maintain and support company websites, web hosting environments, domain registrations, and related digital platforms.
- Coordinate website updates, content changes, plugin management, and basic backend administration.
- Troubleshoot website performance, uptime, security, and functionality issues while working with internal stakeholders and external development partners.
- Manage website user accounts, permissions, integrations, forms, and data collection tools.
- Monitor website security, backups, SSL certificates, and software updates to ensure reliable and secure operations.
- Assist with implementation and support of web-based business applications, analytics tools, and digital marketing technology platforms.
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, help desk, systems administration, or a similar role.
- Experience supporting both hardware and software environments.
