Job Summary

The Manager, Fleet & Safety is responsible for leading and administering IOS's fleet management, driver safety, workplace safety, regulatory compliance, workers' compensation, and risk management programs across all divisions. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Operations, this role ensures the organization maintains a safe work environment, operates a compliant and efficient vehicle fleet, and effectively manages operational risk.

The Manager, Fleet & Safety partners closely with Division Leaders, Operations Managers, HR, Facilities, and field personnel to promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. This position serves as the primary administrator for fleet and safety systems, regulatory compliance programs, incident investigations, and safety training initiatives while supporting company wide operational excellence.

Duties/Responsibilities Fleet Management & Compliance
  • Manage company fleet operations, ensuring compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, state, and local regulations.
  • Administer fleet management systems and telematics platforms (e.g., Samsara) tomonitorvehicleutilization, driver behavior, maintenance, and compliance.
  • Coordinate vehicle acquisition, assignment, registration, licensing, inspections, and disposal activities.
  • Develop andmaintaindriver qualification files, motor vehicle record (MVR) review programs, and fleet compliance documentation.
  • Monitor fleet performance metrics andidentifyopportunities to improve safety,utilization, and operating costs.
  • Partner with Operations Managers to ensure vehicles, trailers, and equipment meet IOS safety and maintenance standards.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and track vehicle lifecycle replacement recommendations.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Administer company wide safety programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives.
  • Support OSHA compliance efforts andmaintainreadiness for inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Conduct safety audits,jobsiteinspections, facility walkthroughs, and compliance assessments across divisions.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, vehicle accidents, near misses, and property damage events.
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Track and report safety performance metrics, including incident rates, leading indicators, and corrective action completion.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, records, certifications, and regulatory reporting.
  • Serve as a safety resource for field teams, supervisors, and operational leadership.
  • Manage workers' compensationclaimsadministration in partnership with HR, insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate injury reporting, claim investigations, and return-to-work programs.
  • Monitor claim trends and recommend initiatives to reduce claim frequency and severity.
  • Assist with liability, auto, and propertyclaimsinvestigations and documentation.
  • Support annual insurance renewals by providing fleet, safety, and claims data.
  • Track and support initiatives designed to improve EMR performance and reduce insurance costs.
Training & Safety Culture
  • Coordinate safety orientation, driver training, certification programs, and recurring compliance training.
  • Supportdivision Safety Captains and Operations Managers in delivering local safety initiatives.
  • Develop safety communications, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture focused on hazard identification, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Track training completion and certification requirements across the organization.
  • Develop andmaintainfleet and safety dashboards, scorecards, and KPI reporting.
  • Analyze trends related to accidents, injuries, vehicleutilization, claims, and compliance performance.
