Overview
The Assistant Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing daily property operations, financial performance, resident experience, and team leadership. This role drives occupancy, revenue, and resident satisfaction while ensuring efficient operations, strong financial controls, and a high-quality community experience.
Responsibilities- Operations & Leadership:
Support daily property operations and serve as a key partner to the Community Manager; provide guidance and support to onsite team members to ensure strong performance and customer service; assist with training and development of team members; act in the capacity of the Community Manager in their absence. - Leasing, Marketing & Property Performance:
Support leasing activities, including prospect engagement, tours, applications, and renewals; monitor leasing activity, occupancy trends, delinquency, and support strategies to achieve performance goals; support the property’s marketing efforts, including social media, online presence, and reputation management; assist with creating content and maintaining consistent, engaging digital communication; analyze property performance metrics and contribute to operational improvements. - Financial & Administrative:
Manage accounts receivable, including collections, delinquency follow-up, payment plans, and eviction preparation; support accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and vendor coordination; ensure accurate and compliant documentation for leases, renewals, and resident files; assist with reporting, administrative functions, and office operations as needed. - Resident Experience & Property Operations:
Assist with planning and executing resident events and engagement initiatives; build relationships with residents and ensure timely resolution of concerns; coordinate with maintenance to support work order completion and unit readiness; assist with inspections, move-in readiness, and maintaining community standards and curb appeal; monitor vendor performance to ensure quality service delivery. - Additional Responsibilities:
Complete required training courses and professional development; assist with office operations and support the community leadership team in daily activities as needed.
- Strong leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Comfortable using property management systems and digital platforms (Yardi experience preferred)
- Basic understanding of financial operations including accounts receivable and payable
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Must have valid driver s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to operate property equipment and vehicles, including golf carts where applicable*
- Weekend availability required at most properties
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, which may include moving throughout the property, touring apartment homes, and accessing various areas of the community, with or without reasonable accommodation
