Plant Manager – Glass Recycling – Wilson

Location:

Wilson, Sibelco.

• Organize, optimize, and continually improve operational, production, and maintenance activities.
• Drive operational organization to maintain plant guarantees, including Zero Harm safety approach, first‑class customer service, competitive cost position, and highest industry standards for processes, quality, environment, and legal obligations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies, safeguard plant personnel, lead the safety program, and conduct or ensure completion of safety training.
• Manage and direct production operations, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance of all products while meeting customer needs.
• Leverage production employees to achieve production goals while maintaining product quality and compliance.
• Identify and initiate Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles to eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve productivity.
• Plan the physical condition of facilities through regular upkeep and CAPEX; complete budgetary plans and cost‑control activities.
• Monitor and reduce stock of by‑products/waste and manage input raw‑material inventory.
• Participate actively in scheduling and performance meetings; support sales and sourcing functions.
• Manage production and maintenance OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
• Implement, maintain, and continually improve production processes.
• Recruit, train, develop personnel, and ensure optimal functioning of the team.
• Develop supervisors and operators through coaching, training, delegation, and accountability.
• Audit, solve problems, and improve plant operations; investigate and correct actions related to quality and safety events.
• Remain calm, focused, and effective during change, uncertainties, and risk.
• Make confident decisions even with incomplete information; navigate complex situations efficiently.
• Build diverse, morale‑enhanced teams; communicate clearly and adapt styles to audiences.
• Set clear goals, drive self and others towards excellent results; model perseverance despite challenges.
• Continuously improve Sibelco’s key processes, procedures, and procedures; encourage a mindset of ongoing improvement.
• Measure process effectiveness, use benchmarks, and respond appropriately to decision urgency, balancing quality and speed.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent by experience.
• 8+ years’ experience in a leadership role in industrial manufacturing or related glass recycling environment.
• Experience with turnaround challenges.
