Environmental Compliance Technician

Brief Description

The Environmental Compliance Technician is responsible for environmental compliance and management of regulated electrical equipment.

• Confirm unit details match continuation sheet and fix discrepancies.
• Print and use WHSE reports to confirm that all units are physically in their assigned areas.
• Report discrepancies to Environmental Compliance Coordinator or Environmental Manager and resolve using unit information found in Syspro.
• Pull oil samples and decide if unit needs to be tested and tagged.
• Load trailers with regulated and non‑regulated equipment for off‑site disposal.
• Identify if units have been evacuated of SF6 gas, follow SOP to ensure the unit is properly emptied and elevate questions to the Environmental Compliance Coordinator.
• Properly use PPE when processing units and materials.
• Promptly respond to requests by the EH&S Department.
• Maintain compliance by consulting EH&S Management/SOP for questions regarding unlabeled and untagged equipment.

• HS Diploma, preferred.
• Experience with small hand tools, required.
• Cooperative attitude towards all internal and external customers.
• Help team members resolve questions and assist with the workload.
• A dependable and strong work ethic; works safely.
• Professional language and conduct at all times.
