Chemical Process Technician II
As a Chemical Process Technician II, you will operate automatic and/or manual equipment to process manufacturing batches of bulk materials/ingredients including mechanical processing (e.g., mixing, grinding, separating, filtering, etc.) and chemical processing (altering the chemical properties of materials through chemical reactions and changing temperature, pressure, etc.) in accordance with operating procedures in order to complete specific production steps or processes. Bonds a variety of dissimilar materials assemblies, components, equipment or structures into semi-finished or finished products.
Performs surface finishing of parts, components, and assembled items including washing/ painting/plating/anti-corrosion coating, hardening, polishing/engraving/etching, etc. Monitors and verifies quality of finished product in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
What You Will Do:
- Works under direct supervision with limited discretion. Requires instructions to complete new assignments or activities
- Frequently uses and applies technical principles, theories, and concepts. Applies acquired job skills in the execution of existing procedures to complete assigned tasks
- Follows routines to achieve day-to-day objectives. Uses standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and goals
- Performs more involved tasks, requiring minor adjustments to work methods. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of basic scope and complexity
- Works to deliver on day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on team results. Refers more complex issues to higher levels
- Operates production equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and established procedures.
- Reviews pre-production activities to advance process to production.
- Inspects parts for defects and performs quality control procedures to ensure that products meet company standards.
- Maintains work site in accordance with established safety measures.
- Manages inventory for materials used in production and orders new supplies as needed.
- Follows safety protocols and adheres to established processes to ensure quality standards are met.
Qualification You Must Have:
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Environment, Health & Safety Requirements:
- Position requires work in a chemical manufacturing environment with routine use of Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), chemical protective clothing, gloves, boots and other required PPE. Must be able to meet the requirements of the respiratory protection program including medical evaluation.
