The Production Operator III contributes to a team-oriented production process. Responsibilities include operating automated production equipment, diagnosing machinery issues, assisting in preventative maintenance, and sanitation of related equipment. They contribute to maintaining a safe work environment for themselves and fellow technicians. The role requires masterful use of Enterprise software for data input, retrieval, reporting, and other functions as instructed, and demonstrates competency for all on-the-job activities that may affect product safety, legality, and quality.

The position requires ability to function effectively as part of a high-performing team.

Physical requirements include the following:

• Ability to routinely stoop and bend while lifting from 20 to 80 pounds.
• Ability to routinely lift 40 pounds of wrap/packaging materials from 12 inches to 3 feet and from 6 feet high down to 3 feet high.
• Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb fixed and portable ladders up to 20 feet, often while carrying up to 20 pounds of dough and reaching out to drop dough into a hopper.
• Ability to crawl under machinery as required.
• Ability to push or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 500 pounds for 300 feet.
• Ability to move wheeled containers up to 2400 pounds with assistance for 50 feet.
• Ability to move equipment and icing troughs up to 25 feet.
• Ability to push a wheeled cart requiring 18 pounds of force to initiate and 10 pounds to continue in motion.
• Ability to roll a wheeled module requiring 25 pounds of force to initiate and 8 pounds to continue, with the module possibly needing to be moved on an incline.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.

Position responsibilities and major duties include:

• Check and adhere to production work schedule and reporting times
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area at all times
• Operate facility metal detector(s) if trained and certified
• Comply with work rules, safety rules, and GMPs
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.)
• Perform other duties deemed by management as part of the job, including attendance and related operating rules
• Set up, operate, and monitor all machinery according to established standards and safety procedures
• Ensure continuous and efficient flow of materials through assigned equipment
• Verify product quality meets required standards and make necessary adjustments
• Remove defective product and maintain clean, organized work areas and sanitation
• Complete required documentation and system entries accurately and on time

Two (2) or more years of related experience.

• High School diploma or equivalency plus successful completion of a technical certification course (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair)
• Equivalent military or other related technical training, or successful completion of at least 45 college credit hours may substitute for technical training
• A technical certification course may include completion of the AIB “Science of Baking” course

Salary Range: $27.06/hr
