SummaryThe Production Expediter will ensure production schedules, deadlines, and quotas are met by overseeing the flow of materials, components, tooling, and paperwork among departments, and by taking action to solve problems and fulfill rush orders.

- Works in conjunction with production management, supply chain, production leads, quality and shipping to assure scheduling of work orders dates are met and available for shipping to customers or stock orders in stock available for shipment. Pulls and stages material for work orders as they are scheduled to assure material is available for use for the production shifts.
- Assures all material staging locations are clearly labeled and organized in a 5S manner to avoid any confusion on part numbers or work orders. Labels shelving as needed.
- Identifies material shortages in advance of work orders staged ready to be worked and tracks them with supply chain providing best available dates for delivery.
- Manages the short cut or short stock areas to minimize excess material and identify material to be used first in work orders prior to cutting into new stock.
- Responsible for managing rejected or non-conforming material areas in production and assure material is clearly labeled, dispositioned, reworked, scrapped or reused in a timely manner.
- Supports other areas as needed such as quality and warehouse in putting away stock orders or moving customer orders to shipping areas. May include receiving in materials on containers or raw material from suppliers.
- Ability to run the sweeper to clean up areas in production.
- May perform part investigations when inventory is reported to be out of balance.
- Actively and continually strives to reduce cost, waste, and time.
- Conducts Cycle Counts or Inventory Investigations.
