The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of the manufacturing operation, driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will lead production teams, optimize manufacturing processes, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure operational excellence and on-time customer delivery. The Production Manager will also foster employee development while implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Responsibilities- Manage and oversee daily production operations to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Develop production schedules and coordinate workflow to meet customer demand and delivery requirements.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, and Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies.
- Analyze production metrics and operational data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions.
- Design and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and standardized work instructions.
- Coach, mentor, and develop production supervisors and manufacturing teams.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee training and career development.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
- Collaborate with planning, receiving, engineering, quality, and other cross-functional teams to improve operational performance.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment while supporting customer satisfaction.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
- 5-8 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of Demand Flow Technology (DFT), Toyota Production System (TPS), Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and team development abilities.
- Ability to analyze production data and drive operational improvements.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
