Assembly Technician I

Location: Lenexa, KS
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Thursday | 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Position Summary

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking an Assembly Technician I for a leading manufacturing company in Lenexa, KS. Under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, this position plays a critical role in assembling components to form complete units or subassemblies on a production line or workbench using hand and powered tools. Successful candidates will be safety-conscious, dependable, and committed to producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform repetitive assembly operations.
Assemble fan components using hand, pneumatic, and electric tools and fixtures.
Follow detailed written and verbal work instructions.
Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
Assist in maintaining housekeeping and cleanliness standards throughout the work area.
Affix labels and identification markings to finished products.
Test and inspect completed units to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
Package finished products for shipment and place materials on pallets as required.
Operate equipment such as drill presses, punch presses, riveting machines, sealing machines, staple guns, and nail guns to support assembly operations.
Perform various production tasks as needed to meet manufacturing schedules.
Maintain reliable attendance and adherence to all company safety requirements.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 6 months of assembly experience required; 1 year of assembly experience preferred.
Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to bend, reach, and work at ground level and above shoulder height.
Must be able to stand and walk throughout the workday, up to 10 hours per shift.
Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, and face shields.

Work Environment

Fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.
Exposure to machinery, moderate noise levels, and varying temperatures.
May be exposed to repetitive sounds from machinery and equipment.
May work with chemicals in accordance with MSDS guidelines.
Requires strict adherence to safety procedures and teamwork in a production-driven environment.
