What you'll be working on:
Nurture the developer community by driving engagement across Discord, the Apify subreddit, and other Apify-maintained channels.
Plan and run community programs end-to-end, such as webinars, contests, and giveaways.
Keep the community informed by announcing product changes, feature releases, and relevant updates across community channels.
Guide developers from onboarding to success - advising on monetization strategies, navigating documentation, and providing hands‑on support to both new and experienced publishers.
Capture developer insights through conversations, calls, and events, and feed them back to the relevant internal teams.
Support logistics for in‑person events and meet‑ups in your region, and have opportunities to attend them.
Must‑haves:
You have 2+ years experience building or managing communities - it’s not the name or size of the community that matters, it’s that you've grown something and have the numbers to show for it.
You have hands‑on experience with at least one community platform, e.g. Discord, Reddit, Discourse.
You own work end‑to‑end. You pick things up and finish them, or you flag blockers without waiting to be asked.
You're a proven team player who enjoys collaborating and thrives in shared projects.
Strong written English - you can write clearly for a technical audience, from a quick Discord reply to a long‑form blog post.
You're curious about tech and developer tools and willing to learn Apify deeply enough to engage credibly with developers.
You're comfortable with AI tools beyond a chat interface
, understanding when to use them and when to show up as yourself. New to AI? Apify is a great place to learn.
Nice to have:
Experience managing or moderating technical communities
, e.g. AI communities, gaming communities.Experience organizing or attending online or in‑person community events
.Confident presenting to developer audiences
: you can host a webinar, moderate a panel, and run a live product demo without breaking a sweat.
Complete onboarding
, build relationships across Developer Relations, Community, and Social Media, and start engaging with the community in Apify‑maintained spaces.Ship your first programs: Organize at least one office hour end‑to‑end - topic selection with product teams, logistics, marketing promotion, and live hosting on Discord.
Prepare community metrics

Understand the key numbers we use for measuring community health and record them for the monthly report.
Know the community inside out: Map the most active members, their use cases, and the topics that generate the most engagement - and be able to articulate what's driving growth and what isn't.
Understand the KPIs
:
Learn about the key metrics that matter most for community health over the next 12 months and contribute to activities that improve them.Build your internal network: Have working relationships with Engineering, Marketing, and Product, and know who to loop in for what.
