Responsibilities
- Assist with care to obstetrical trauma patients in a patient/family centered approach, in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization and guidelines of professional organizations.
- Remain available for all trauma activations and be promptly available 24/7 (response times: 15 minutes for highest tier activation, 30 minutes for second tier activation).
- Follow the patient throughout the hospital course (Trauma Resuscitation bay, Radiology, OR, PACU, ICU).
- Work in conjunction with the Director of Trauma Services and Trauma Medical Director to assist in providing quality care to an assigned group of patients.
- Assist in identification of Performance Improvement opportunities; create clear action plans and initiate resolution of Performance Improvement opportunities in coordination with the trauma surgical staff, trauma program director, trauma medical director, and trauma liaisons.
- RN Coord Trauma/Womens position must hold a valid RN license within 90 days of employment start date.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Registered Nurse (RN) credential within 90 days of employment start date.
- Experience in trauma and/or obstetrical care preferred.
