Position: RN - $2,500 Sign On Bonus

Job Description

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations, reporting to the Plasma Center Manager. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The role operates under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues.

Specific duties:

  • Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent
  • Perform AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion procedures
  • Conduct medical history interviews and acceptability requirements
  • Conduct physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE)
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for emergencies, develop physician standing orders, and transport donors to emergency care facilities
  • Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues
  • Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees
  • Manage employee incidents and coordinate further evaluation with occupational health/ER
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and support investigations associated with pandemic threats
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state of responsibilities:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Current CPR and AED certification
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy
  • Complete FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
Benefits & Compensation

Sign‑on Bonus: $2,500 – Day One Benefits.

Hourly wage range: $33.44 - $45.98. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives and participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits.

Paid sick time up to 80 hours per calendar year; new hires accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
