About the Role

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supporting plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and ensuring compliance with regulations and SOPs.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage donor adverse events per SOPs and medical emergencies.
• Notify donors of unsuitable test results and refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation requirements with occupational health.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• State licensure or certification:
  Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.

Hourly wage range: $33.44 – $45.98 (location: USA – KS – Lenexa). Eligible for up to 80 hours of sick time and up to 120 hours of paid vacation annually.
