Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse)
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., seeks a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and operates under guidance of the Center Physician.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self‑exclusion.
- Conduct medical history interviews, physical examinations, blood testing, and review serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage adverse events according to standard operating procedures.
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders from the Center Physician and arranging transport to emergency care facilities.
- Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings, medical or technical issues regarding donor safety and eligibility.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidance as needed.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations of pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing program meeting state requirements.
- Current state license or certification relevant to the assigned state (EMT‑Paramedic).
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑licensed basic IV therapy competency.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Minimum two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Compensation: hourly wage range of $24.32 – $33.44 (actual offer depends on qualifications and experience). Eligible for a $2,500 sign‑on bonus and short‑term incentives.
