Sign‑On Bonus

Job Summary

CVOR Registered Nurse at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare. The role involves pre‑operative assessment, patient preparation, participation in surgical site verification, and postoperative care with a focus on patient‑centered evidence‑based practices.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
  • Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri‑operative process.
  • Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
  • Participate in surgical site verification (briefing, time‑out, debriefing, universal protocols) per hospital policy.
  • Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
  • Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care while managing evidence‑based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team (providers, surgeons, surgical technologists, etc.).
  • Apply the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care.
  • Assess patient condition, monitor throughout the shift, and document changes in patient condition and care provided.
  • Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow‑up measures.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with Registered Nurse Diploma.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • No travel required.
  • 0 years of experience required.
