About the role:

This is a high-impact opportunity to join a brand-new manufacturing facility that recently opened and is continuing to grow. The site currently has approximately 15 employees and operates three production lines, creating an opportunity for this individual to build and establish the foundation for Quality and EHS processes.

The role will be primarily focused on Quality leadership, with EHS responsibilities supporting the overall safety and compliance culture of the facility. This person will play a key role in preparing the site for upcoming audits, supporting FSSC compliance initiatives, developing processes and procedures, and partnering closely with operations to drive quality excellence.

The current working title is Quality & EHS Lead, but the organization is open to making this a Manager-level role depending on the candidate’s experience.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Quality and EHS programs, policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives.
  • Support the plant’s efforts toward FSSC compliance and audit readiness.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, including reporting findings, managing corrective actions, and ensuring follow-up.
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformances through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Partner closely with production teams and operators to identify quality concerns, implement solutions, and improve processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve SOPs, work instructions, quality documentation, and compliance records as the facility continues to grow.
  • Lead quality training initiatives, including employee engagement, awareness, and ongoing development to build a strong quality culture.
  • Support HACCP, GMP, food safety, and quality system requirements.
  • Assist with EHS initiatives, including risk assessments, safety procedures, compliance documentation, and machine guarding improvements.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Leadership teams to drive continuous improvement, waste reduction, and process optimization.
  • Support customer-focused initiatives, product trials, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, and implement improvement plans to enhance plant performance.
What You Need to Succeed:
  • Experience leading Quality initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in food safety, FSSC, HACCP, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and build structure within a growing facility.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, audits, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience developing SOPs, procedures, training materials, and compliance documentation.
  • Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to partner across production, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Customer‑focused approach with a commitment to quality and service excellence.
  • Experience with flexible packaging manufacturing is preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience or certification is a plus.
Key Selling Points:
  • Opportunity to build Quality and EHS systems from the ground up at a new manufacturing facility.
  • High‑visibility role with direct impact on plant success and future growth.
  • Chance to establish processes, influence culture, and create lasting improvements.
  • Ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building structure, solving problems, and partnering closely with manufacturing teams.
