QC Virology Technician

Job Summary And Purpose

Location:

Lenexa, KS. The QC Virology Technician I will ensure in-process materials and final product are tested in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures and in compliance with regulations according to 9

CFR.

• Conduct titrations, inactivation assurance, identity, and extraneous agent testing for in-process materials and final product
• Conduct testing described above in tissue culture or chicken embryos
• Prepare media and reagents for testing
• Perform mathematical calculations using the Reed–Muench method
• Use aseptic technique to avoid contamination
• Document results concurrently and legibly when performed
• Report any Out of Specification results
• Perform routine lab maintenance and cleaning
• Assure QC records are accurate and compliant
• Perform all other duties as assigned

• Basic knowledge of virology
• Demonstrable aseptic technique
• Basic skills with databases and word processing programs

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, veterinary science, or equivalent; 4+ years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• 1+ year in quality control or relevant lab experience strongly preferred

• Ability to perform repetitive motions and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Visual inspection required

• Position located at the Biomune Lenexa campus in the quality control laboratory
• Required to work with hazardous materials in a safe, controlled environment
