Meat​/Seafood Clerk

Overview

We are looking for a Meat Clerk to join the team at Sprouts Farmers Market. The role involves providing customer service, handling and preparing meats, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

• Provide high level of customer service.
• Practice safe food handling procedures.
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery truck.
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against invoices.
• Examine meats in storage and rotate to avoid aging.
• Assist customers with questions and special orders, maintain a positive customer‑focused environment.
• Know weekly ad items and guide customers in product location throughout the store.
• Perform Clean As You Go and Fresh At 4 programs.
• Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

• At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude and strong communication skills; capable of working in a team.
• Physical ability to stand up to 4 hours continuously, walk up to 2 miles per shift, lift/carry 25‑90 lbs., and use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs. within the required force limits.
• Good vision required for use of knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Perform housekeeping duties and clean/sanitize work area (tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, freezer).
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights & measures regulations and company recipes.
• Work inside a temperature‑controlled area.
