Job DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth and expanding the commercial client base for the Kansas City Metro Area. This position involves identifying business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, building strategic plans and implementing growth strategies to achieve commercial account sales and revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales and business development, strong understanding of the construction and home improvement industry, excellent communication skills, and excellent time management skills.
Identify and establish strategic partnerships with commercial accounts, Ace Hardware stores, attend networking events, trade referral groups, etc. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key accounts.
Generate leads and recurring commercial business revenue with strategic partners. Close deals effectively and efficiently, meeting or exceeding sales targets
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients. Develop and present proposals that align with client requirements and company capabilities
Provide regular reports on sales performance and market trends. Analyze data to identify areas for business development activities improvement and adjust strategies accordingly
Conduct market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and the competitive landscape
Collect any past due balances
Enter new customer information and schedule jobs for commercial accounts in company software
Be the point of contact for established customer base to answer any questions, handle any issues, schedule jobs, etc.
AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Closing deals with commercial accounts
- Creating and providing marketing collateral for potential accounts
- Daily time management
- Contract pricing
EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
- 3-5 years business development experience
- Demonstrated success in closing deals and generating revenue through outside sales efforts
- Manage at least $500,000 in recurring revenue from account management activities
- Sound knowledge of the construction and home improvement industry. Experience in the professional handyman industry a plus
- Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships with key personnel in small, medium, and large commercial accounts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Results-driven with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred
