Job Description
Business Development Manager (BDM) – FMS
Location: Lenexa, KS
Base Salary: $68,000 + Lucrative Uncapped Commission Structure
Responsibilities- Develop pre‑sales strategy for target accounts and maintain a pipeline that meets or exceeds quota revenues.
- Respond proactively to leads, representing the full spectrum of Ryder services.
- Collaborate with Account Representatives, Customer Development Managers and National Sales to generate and transition new opportunities.
- Conduct quality needs assessments and prepare value‑based proposals.
- Support sales protocol compliance, maintain sales activity reports, and foster relationships with Corporate Business Units.
- Assist in multi‑functional expansion of sales opportunities with MDS, Safety, Finance, and other resources.
- Train and improve sales skills, industry knowledge, and personal growth.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships across all levels.
- High initiative, self‑motivation, and flexibility for fast‑paced environments.
- Strong multitasking, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Detail oriented with excellent follow‑up.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent field.
- Five or more years of sales experience with demonstrated quota achievement.
- Understanding of Ryder product offerings and ability to present full service portfolio.
- Advanced ability to interpret financial data.
