Responsibilities
- Under specific direction, responsible for selling Johnson Controls service offerings to building owners, primarily at the Director level.
- Promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to building owners by providing technical solutions and operational expertise.
- Build and manage long‑term customer relationships/partnerships with target and managed accounts.
- Ensure customer satisfaction.
- Position renewable service agreements as the foundation of managed account relationships.
- Perform the sales process to cultivate, qualify, and close new sales opportunities, obtaining and closing sales on a monthly basis.
- Expand the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings within an account.
- Sell Johnson Controls offerings persuasively, persistently and confidently to building owners at the D‑level while reaching optimal profit levels.
- Focus on improving the existing building to allow the building owner to achieve business objectives.
- Manage ongoing opportunities, particularly focusing on selling services and retrofits.
- Sell, renew, and expand renewable service agreements, including multi‑year agreements, to both new and existing customers.
- Build partnering relationships with the owner or owner representatives responsible for the decision‑making process to drive the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings.
- Actively listen, probe, and identify concerns.
- Understand the customer’s business and speak their language.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of six (6) years of progressive field sales experience.
- At least one year of successfully selling HVAC or building automation system services or projects.
- Commitment to integrity and quality in business.
- Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence account decision makers at key levels.
Salary Range: $53,400 - $80,000 (determined by education, experience, and market data). This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that takes into account project, quarterly, and annual margin and includes a competitive benefits package.
