Rightech is working with a national data center construction systems integrator who is looking to add 10 Data Center Technicians to their team in Lenexa, KS.
We finished the site a few weeks ago and now need to address change orders over the next two weeks. After that there is a 2 month build starting. Candidates must be flexible to work 6 or 7 days per week with 12 hour shifts.
The role will support the installation of structured cabling (fiber and copper) and equipment in critical data center environments. This opportunity offers hands‑on training, mentorship, and a clear path for career growth in the telecom and low‑voltage industry. Technicians will work on projects involving fiber, cable management, basic rough‑in, patching and porting/dressing, and following safety compliance.
Job Responsibilities:- Cable infrastructure and Fiber rough in.
- Cable management (dressing and labeling).
- Copper and Fiber knowledge
- Porting / dressing cabling
- Labeling
- Fiber audit and loop testing
- Install fiber tray, ladder rack, customer equipment, and cabinets.
- Infrastructure installs (cable management, fiber tray systems, ladder racks, power trays).
- Material receiving and hardware assembly.
- Read and follow blueprints set for installation.
- Follow written and oral communication displaying professionalism with colleagues and management.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA).
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
- 0-2 years of Data Center Technician experience.
- Active OSHA 10 – preferred.
- Physical Requirement:
Must be able to work on a ladder and/or scissor lift, in confined spaces, lift to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds. Ability to work on your feet for entire shift. - Tools:
Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver (multi-Bit), tape measure, snips, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), punch down tool, flashlight, electric tape - PPE:
Retention Style Hard hat, Level IV Cut Resistant Work Gloves, Safety Glasses, Level IV Safety vest, and work boots (steel toe or composite toe).
