Southern Home Services is a residential HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical company that acquires, owns, and operates businesses around the United States. We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems, diagnosing issues, executing repairs and installations, and ensuring that all work meets high-quality standards and local codes.

Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with homeowners are essential for success.

• Diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
• Determining whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
• Installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
• Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
• Testing for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
• Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
• Managing the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
• Keeping equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
• Maintaining safety equipment
• Additional duties as assigned

• Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
• Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
• Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
• Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
• Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and supervisors.
• Physical fitness required to perform tasks such as lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Track record of delivering excellent customer service and professionalism.
• Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report on job progress.
• Leadership and teamwork abilities, including leading apprentices and coordinating with other trades.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience.

• Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Climbing ladders, accessing attics and crawlspaces, driving, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, performing fine detail work.
• Ability to drive.
• Working in various environments: indoor, outdoor, attics, crawlspaces.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit; talk or hear both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures (heat or cold) and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow.
