Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Installation Technician
Location: Kansas City, KS and Lenexa, KS branch headquarters, serving customers throughout the greater Kansas City area.
This hybrid remote/in-office role supports the Lenexa branch and ensures safe and reliable fire alarm system operations in accordance with NFPA 72, state, and local codes.
Responsibilities- Follow and maintain structured inspection schedules; conduct inspection, testing, and minor service repairs for fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA 72 and local codes.
- Document findings, remedial actions and pricing; complete service ticket documentation and follow up on corrective actions.
- Generate and upload test reports to Siemens tools and city municipality websites.
- Provide instructions to customer personnel on proper operation and routine inspections; assist with training.
- Maintain stock of tools and equipment in vehicles; work overtime when needed.
- Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures.
- Complete required training and certifications within the specified time requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
- Ability to work in various environments around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high‑lift equipment; work in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools up to 75 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to differentiate types/colors of wire.
- Minimum 18 years of age, valid driver’s license with limited violations; meet eligibility for Siemens fleet vehicle program.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
- Must obtain NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level II within 12 months.
- 3+ years of experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance of Fire Alarm and/or Fire Life Safety Systems.
- Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
Pay range: $39,199 – $67,198 annually. Final wage may vary based on budget and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications.
