Position: Fire Sprinkler Inspector (Sign-On Bonus Available)

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections
  • Accurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspection
  • Professionally represent the company at all times
  • Complete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding through communicating devices, such as laptop computers, smartphones, and/or hardcopy
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected
  • Complete assigned inspections on time
  • Perform other duties as directed
  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs and be capable of performing physical labor
  • Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge sprinkler systems
  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment
  • Be enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program, maintaining all requirements of the Apprenticeship Standards
  • Have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State, and Local codes
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational/product manuals
  • Experience with hand tools and multi‑meter usage
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50–70 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including on‑call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements
  • Willing to travel out of town
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $23.07 - 31.73. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
