Carpenter - Skilled Tradesman

BRIEF

DESCRIPTION:

The Carpenter - Skilled Tradesman is an experienced and trainable laborer skilled in carpentry in multiple areas of residential and commercial rebuilding, with a demonstrated track record in insurance restoration work. Effective communication skills are essential during the reconstruction process. Carpenters reports directly to the Project Manager. Candidates are expected to possess a reliable truck and tools to execute tasks to a high standard.

Hourly Pay Range is: $21.00 - $36.00

PRINCIPAL

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* General carpentry - residential and commercial

* Demolition

* Tile Work

* Hanging cabinets

* Trim carpentry-baseboards

* Door hanging and taping

* Painting

* Light electrical/plumbing

* Rough framing consisting of re-framing homes and setting trusses

* Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship and polite communication

* Comply with safety, quality & procedural standards

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

* This position has no direct reports

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

* Direct experience working as a skilled carpenter is required

* Knowledge of carpentry and use of carpentry related hand and power tools

* Self-motivated

* Work in confined areas (crawl space)

* Understand and follow oral and written instructions

* Communicate effectively in oral and written forms to execute required paperwork

* Identify hazards in assigned work areas

* Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others

* Meet the mental and physical demands of the job

* Ability to work with people in a professional manner

* Maintains a valid and current driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

* Successfully pass a national criminal background check and motor vehicle report background check

* Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening

EDUCATION:

* High school diploma or GED equivalent required

TRAVEL:

Availability for travel in response to out-of-town projects and/or catastrophic events. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected for training or meetings.
