Equipment Technician – Wenger
Wenger is seeking a skilled and motivated Equipment Technician to join our Technical Service Department. This hands‑on role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of Wenger extruders and related equipment. Candidates will need to reside near the Sabetha, KS area and will travel domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities- Provide on‑site technical service and support during field visits.
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment at customer locations.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Conduct equipment testing and ensure operational stability.
- Deliver technical training to customers as needed.
- Maintain safety standards and follow client specifications.
- Be available for work outside regular business hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Understand extrusion processes for pet food, aquafeed, human food, and industrial starches.
- Utilize strong mechanical or electrical skills and problem‑solving ability in a customer‑facing, travel‑intensive role.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with mechanical systems, electrical components, or industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of safety protocols and procedures in a technical environment.
The estimated hourly pay range for this role is $28.00 – $34.00 an hour. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
