Mid-Level Diesel Technician – Lenexa, KS

Ryder is hiring a Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Lenexa, KS — providing a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits.

Compensation
  • Hourly Pay: $26.50 per hour
  • Certification bonus of up to $700 ( $100 per new ASE certification obtained)
  • Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
Schedule & Hours
  • Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours:

    Second Shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred)
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines: routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
  • Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background/motor‑vehicle check
Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Perform standard vehicle maintenance
  • Perform standard component inspections and repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, using diagnostic computer when applicable
  • Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
  • Utilize key functions of shop management system and electronic documentation available
  • Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
  • Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
