Position Overview
Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Lenexa, KS. Company offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path for career advancement.
Responsibilities- Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
- Performs standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
- Conducts preventive maintenance.
- Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems; uses diagnostic computer when applicable.
- Identifies root causes of failures and performs required repairs.
- Replaces defective components as instructed.
- Performs facility maintenance duties.
- Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
- Utilizes shop management system and electronic documentation.
- Works in compliance with federal, provincial, and corporate safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines.
- Performs other support duties as required, including Service Island support.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred).
- Basic tools proficiency.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
- Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred).
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
- Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
- Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (includes drug/alcohol verification for last 3 years).
- Additional screening may be required (employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, road test, badging, background requirements of the customer).
- Hourly pay: $26.50 per hour.
- Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification, up to $700.
- Quarterly bonus: up to $500 every quarter.
- Second shift: 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm (Monday‑Friday, weekends off).
