Residential Plumbing Diagnostics & Repair Specialist

Step into a day on our Service Team With Mission Plumbing, Heating & Cooling (a Southern Home Services Company), your morning starts by reviewing your scheduled residential calls on your tablet. You greet homeowners, listen closely, and begin methodical troubleshooting. From pinpointing hidden leaks to replacing failed valves or installing new fixtures, you bring homes back to peak performance—always to code and always with clear communication.

What you will do Diagnose issues in home plumbing systems and equipment, determining root causes and best next steps.

Recommend repair vs. replacement options that fit the customer’s needs and budget.

Install, assemble, and commission plumbing components: pipes, valves, fittings, fixtures, and related systems.

Service, maintain, and repair water and gas piping, fittings, and associated components.

Pressure-test and leak-test systems using water and/or compressed air to verify safe operation.

Tackle common and complex repairs: replace washers, mend burst lines, and clear clogged drains.

Manage your truck stock: monitor inventory, place restock orders, and verify deliveries.

Keep tools and equipment calibrated and in good order by following manufacturer procedures.

Use and maintain required safety gear on every job.

Pitch in on additional duties as assigned.

What you bring

At least 2 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and/or commercial plumbing systems.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and job specs.

Proficiency with water, gas, and sewage systems installation and service.

Working knowledge of local and state plumbing codes.

Skill with pipe cutters, threaders, soldering/brazing tools, and related equipment.

Strong diagnostic approach and practical problem-solving.

Clear, professional communication with homeowners, teammates, and leaders.

Physical capability to lift, carry, and work in tight spaces for extended periods.

Safety-first mindset and adherence to protocols.

Customer-centric attitude with a record of delivering great service.

Comfort using mobile apps or work-management software for job updates.

Ability to mentor apprentices and collaborate with other trades on larger jobs.

Flexibility to work varied hours, including some weekends and emergency calls.

Physical demands and work environment

Lift 50 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs on occasion.

Climb ladders, access attics and crawlspaces, navigate tight areas; push, pull, carry, use hand tools; perform fine-detail work; and drive between job sites.

Ability to drive.

Work indoors and outdoors, including attics and crawlspaces.

Stand, walk, and sit; communicate in person and by phone.

Use hands to handle or feel tools/objects and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.

Regular exposure to hot/cold temperatures and weather such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.
