- Diagnose, inspect, and repair Class 6-8 tractors and trailers, including brakes, electrical, hydraulic, A/C, engine, exhaust, systems, components and after-treatment systems
- Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections
- Service and replace parts such as tires, hubs, axles, and lift-gates
- Write work orders and open/close repair orders on a company device for mobile road calls and in-yard work
- Inspect tractors and trailers to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation's road safety requirements
- Manage service truck inventory and source parts from local vendors
- Complete inspection reports and DOT documentation accurately and on time
- Deliver strong customer service and report findings to management
- 3+ years of experience repairing Commercial Tractor and Trailers
- Experienced in performing annual federal inspections and brake inspections
- Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record & no suspensions
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Comfortable working with Computers for billing and work orders
- Follows verbal and written work orders to stay on track with daily repairs
- Confident explaining a diagnosis over the phone and helping the customer decide next steps on repairs
- Self-motivated with excellent organization and planning skills
- Experience with stick welding
- Your own tools
- Certifications are a plus | EPA 608/609/Universal & ASE
Demonstrates expertise in diagnosing, inspecting, and repairing Class 6-8 tractors and trailers, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance and compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation safety requirements. Proficient in managing service operations, including parts sourcing and customer communication.
