Base pay ranges from $20 to $27 per hour. This role balances warehouse operations (70%) with field-based assignments (30%). During field rotations, you will follow a 7/12 schedule, which includes base pay, overtime, and double-time for Sundays and holidays, significantly increasing your total earnings. When not in the field, you will work a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Role OverviewThe Technician plays a vital role in maintaining equipment readiness and operational support. You will handle the repair and calibration of blasting, gouging, and welding systems for both warehouse and field use. Depending on your training and certifications, you may also conduct NDE tasks, such as UT thickness, PT, and VT testing for various projects. When not deployed to field sites, you will focus on general warehouse maintenance and equipment upkeep.
CoreResponsibilities
- Verify that all tooling, materials, and equipment are ready and in safe, reliable working order from the moment they arrive until the project concludes.
- Maintain accurate site inventory logs and manage the tracking of consumables and materials.
- Organize and install equipment for weld overlay projects, prioritizing workspace cleanliness and operational safety.
- Monitor weld overlay machines and auxiliary equipment to ensure they function within safe parameters for optimal quality.
- Collaborate with NDE and welding staff to provide training and guidance on equipment positioning and usage to uphold quality benchmarks.
- Maintain a secure work environment by strictly adhering to all safety regulations and established best practices.
- Help the team meet productivity goals and project timelines by consistently upholding high-quality standards.
- Verify that all gear is stored correctly according to the master checklist and immediately tag or report any damaged or missing items.
- Provide essential support to laborers and welders across various project-related tasks.
- Support warehouse operations, including testing, equipment repair, fabrication research, and general facility tasks.
- Foster a collaborative atmosphere by working effectively with customers and fellow team members.
- A minimum of one year of practical experience within the industrial construction or weld overlay sectors is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize standard tools and machinery common to the welding trade.
- Strong capabilities in both written and verbal communication.
- Competence in using standard software applications, including MS Excel.
- Capacity to accurately interpret and execute both written and verbal directives.
- Adaptability to adjust to changing schedules as project needs dictate.
- Commitment to performing all tasks ethically while adhering to company policies and screening procedures.
This position involves working in diverse environmental conditions at heavy maintenance and construction sites. You must be comfortable standing, walking, and navigating scaffolding or ladders for long durations. The job requires the physical strength to push, carry, bend, stoop, and maneuver equipment up to 100 pounds, often in noisy, confined spaces with high humidity and heat.
Work Environment and ToolsYour time will be split between field industrial sites, the shop, and the warehouse. You will utilize various tools, including company vehicles, mobile phones, laptops, radio equipment, and other heavy machinery or industry-specific support gear.
