You will work on real projects that measure and improve the impact of AI on our engineering organization. This 10-week program is a unique opportunity to blend your passion for software development with hands-on coaching, contributing directly to the future of engineering at Jack Henry.
Interns at Jack Henry earn $25/hour and work full-time (40 hours/week, Monday-Friday). Our Summer 2026 Internship Program runs from June 1 to August 7.
This role will be performed onsite at one of our hub locations. Candidates may be based in:

What you'll be responsible for:
In this role, you'll collaborate with AI coaches to design and deliver training materials that help software developers harness AI to improve code quality, accelerate development, and streamline documentation. You'll serve as a peer coach and trusted resource, supporting development teams in adopting best practices for AI tools, refining prompting techniques, and customizing instructions for optimal results. Additionally, you'll contribute to the full software development lifecycle by analyzing engineering metrics, such as cycle time, bug rates, and pull request size, to evaluate the impact of AI coaching initiatives and uncover opportunities for continuous improvement.
What you'll need to have:
* Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or Artificial Intelligence, with an expected graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.
* Demonstrated foundational knowledge of software development principles and a strong interest in the practical application of AI in a modern engineering environment.
* Must be a U.S. citizen and not require sponsorship for employment authorization now or in the future.
What would be nice for you to have:
* An enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and collaborating with peers on technical challenges.
* Familiarity with the concepts of the software development lifecycle (from coursework or class projects) and a curiosity for how AI can improve each stage.
* A passion for writing high-quality code and a desire to deepen your understanding of essential topics such as code security and testing.
