HVC ABAP Developer

What You'll Do

• Build and enhance ABAP objects across the HVC/IS‑Oil module set: TD (Tariffs & Duties), TSW (Trader’s & Scheduler’s Workbench), MAP (Marketing, Accounting & Pricing), HPM (Hydrocarbon Product Management), and the IS‑Oil pricing and movements engines.
• Develop reports, enhancements, and interfaces supporting refinery operations crude receipts, product yields, blending, and finished product dispatch.
• Build and extend logic for bulk product movements, exchange agreements, terminal automation interfaces, and rack pricing.
• Triage and remediate IS‑Oil specific defects across the existing landscape; deliver enhancements via BAdIs, user exits, FM exits, and the IS‑Oil enhancement framework.
• Develop CDS views, OData services, and reporting layers supporting trading, risk, and compliance use cases.
• Work with the US‑based functional and architecture team (Ashok, Sandeep, Dakshaben) on requirement clarification, technical specs, and unit test scripts.
• Contribute to integration work where HVC touches TM (movements/transport), MM/SD (procurement and sales), FI (settlement), and external systems (terminals, carriers, exchange partners).

• 7+ years of SAP ABAP development, with at least 3+ years on S/4
  
  HANA (1809 or later).
• Demonstrable IS‑Oil / HVC project experience. This is the differentiating requirement candidates must have shipped real work in at least one of: TD, TSW, MAP, HPM, exchange agreements, or refinery/terminal automation. Generic ABAP‑on‑HANA without IS‑Oil exposure will not pass screen.
• ABAP 7.50+ syntax fluency, OOABAP, and the standard enhancement framework (BAdIs, user exits, function module exits, screen exits, implicit/explicit enhancements).
• CDS view development with performance tuning (filter pushdown, annotations, associations) and AMDP exposure.
• OData service development (SEGW or RAP).
• Interface experience: BAPI, RFC, ALE/IDoc, proxy/SOA Manager.
• Comfortable working offshore (India) on US business hours overlap for daily standups and tech screens with the US team.

• Direct experience at a refining, midstream, or downstream Oil & Gas operator (Shell, BP, Marathon, Phillips 66, Valero, Holly Frontier, etc.) or at a Cooperative with refining operations.
• HVC Optimization Model (HVC OM) familiarity and exposure to the move toward Autonomous/Touchless HVC.
• SAP Business AI / Joule exposure for hydrocarbon scheduling and movement prediction.
• TSW (Trader’s & Scheduler’s Workbench) configuration and enhancement experience.
• Forms development:
  Adobe Forms and Smart Forms for shipping documents, BOLs, and exchange statements.
• BTP ABAP / Steampunk experience for cloud‑side extensions.
• SAP Activate or Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
• IS‑Oil certification or formal SAP IS‑Oil training.
