Software Project Mgr/ Lead, Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and grow high‑performing software development teams. This role is based in our Leggett & Platt Idea Center office in Lenexa, Kansas, and will play a key part in delivering robust, high‑quality software solutions, including IoT‑based products.
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership, foster a strong team culture, and drive execution across both long‑term product strategies and short‑term project deliverables.

So, what will you be doing as Software Engineering Manager?- Lead a team of software developers to provide enterprise and consumer solutions in the mobile and web platforms
- Own the facilities management function, including building maintenance and space planning
- Lead and coordinate software development activities, ensuring adherence to engineering processes
- Convert product strategy into clear technical plans and execution milestones
- Mentor and develop engineers and software developers, promoting strong technical and professional growth
- Track team progress to ensure quality, schedule, and requirements are met
- Provide actionable product performance feedback and incorporate lessons learned
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture
- Drive continuous improvement in development tools, processes, and workflows
- Partner closely with Product Management, Program Management, and senior leaders
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years of technical and people leadership experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Data‑driven decision‑making and strong analytical skills
- Experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience delivering commercial software and hardware products
- Exposure to IoT‑based systems and solutions
