Akro Fire is seeking aMaterials Handler who is responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing shipments, materials movement, and inventory management. This role involves verifying and recording shipments, preparing items for shipment, receiving incoming items, and ensuring that all inventory is accurately transacted, tracked, and stored. The incumbent performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the kitizing, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment, while following policies, procedures and safety regulations.

Job Accountabilities

  • The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Receives, stocks, and disburses parts or materials, loads or unloads trucks, and disburses parts, materials and supplies to other team members as required
  • Unpacks and verifies goods received against purchase orders or invoices
  • Maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items
  • Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines
  • Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped
  • Posts weights and shipping charges and prepares goods for final shipment
  • Investigation of and recommending corrections in data deviations between the inventory system
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to resolve any issues related to shipping and receiving
  • Assist in managing stock levels and reporting shortages or excesses.
  • Organize and maintain the warehouse, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Supports the Facilities function as needed
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Job Specifications:

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

  • 2 (plus) years of relevant experience
  • Forklift certification a plus (Forklift certification required within 6 months of hire)

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience
  • Possesses a high level of ethical behavior in exercising judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Strong logic, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of driving change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results
  • Possesses high degree of personal accountability
  • Ability to travel to all Integrated Polymer Solutions locations and/or client locations as needed
