Job Description

Temporary Instructional Assistant

Position ends:
June 4, 2027.

20 Hours per week.

Summary

Performs any combination of the following duties in the classroom to assist the teaching staff.

Required Education, Training, and Experience
  • Must meet Paraprofessional Requirements:
    Two-year degree or 48 college semester hours.
  • Evidence of good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Discusses assigned duties with the classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
  • Supervises groups to cafeteria, library, playground and other areas as assigned.
  • Plans, prepares, and develops various teaching aids.
  • Operates learning aids and technological equipment.
  • Assists students individually or in groups with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
  • Assists teacher in preparation of reports and/or materials.
  • Assists in conferring with parents on the progress of students.
  • Other duties as assigned by the principal.

  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, etc.
